About Us

Our Mission

BridgePoint IEP Advocacy is a faith‑informed advocacy organization committed to justice, peacemaking, and service. We walk alongside families of children with disabilities to ensure their voices are heard, their rights are understood, and their children receive equitable, individualized educational support.

BridgePoint Advocacy began with a simple but powerful commitment: helping individuals and families navigate disability services with compassion, clarity, and support. For over five years, Dr. Monteith dedicated her time to providing free advocacy and consulting to families, building strong relationships and gaining firsthand insight into the challenges they face.

When she began teaching at Messiah University, she connected with three students—Alex, Faith, and Annie—who shared her passion for advocacy and inclusion. Recognizing an opportunity to expand this work, Dr. Monteith introduced the idea of entering the university’s Impact Venture Challenge, a program designed to help mission-driven organizations grow and thrive.

Inspired by this vision, Alex, Faith, and Annie stepped forward to collaborate with Dr. Monteith. Together, they transformed years of grassroots advocacy into what is now BridgePoint Advocacy—a team grounded in purpose, driven by compassion, and committed to creating meaningful change.
